My Approach

I work freelance, from Paris or remotely, with health startups and scale-ups that need senior design and product support. I start with the business and its data, and I stay with the product after it ships, to see whether it worked. I can go deep into technical topics with developers, then step back to make the trade-offs that serve the product and the company. With leadership, I bring structure and clear priorities.

I believe the right product can improve life for patients and make the working day easier for healthcare professionals. My role is to turn your technology or your algorithm into that product: easy to use, useful to the people who rely on it, and viable for your company.

Expertise

Product Strategy

I help you decide what to build, in what order, and how you'll know it worked. A long list of ideas becomes a few priorities the whole company can follow.

  • Product vision
  • Prioritisation
  • Roadmap
  • Objectives & success criteria
  • Trade-offs with leadership

User Research & Data

Animated illustration: a carrot inspecting something through a magnifying glass

I listen to patients and healthcare professionals, and I read what the product data says. Put together, they show which problems are worth solving before the team spends months on one.

  • User discovery
  • Problem & opportunity research
  • Interviews & usability testing
  • Product analytics
  • User feedback

Product Design

Animated illustration: a carrot turning an idea into a product

In health, nobody has time to learn an interface. I design apps, web platforms and design systems that patients and healthcare professionals get right the first time. That includes products under medical device regulations.

  • UX & UI design
  • Prototyping
  • Design systems
  • Mobile apps & web platforms
  • Design for regulated environments

Product Delivery

I work side by side with developers. I write specs they can build from, follow technical discussions closely enough to challenge a decision, and check what comes out of each sprint.

  • Specs & user stories
  • Technical feasibility
  • Design-to-development handoff
  • Design QA
  • Sprint follow-up

AI-Powered Products

An algorithm is only useful if people trust its results. I design the interfaces around AI models and medical algorithms, so a clinician can understand a result and act on it. I also use AI in my own work, to synthesise research and prototype faster.

  • Interfaces for AI models
  • Explainability & trust
  • Human-in-the-loop workflows
  • AI-assisted prototyping
  • AI in design & product processes

Design & Product Leadership

I build and lead design teams, or step in as a fractional lead while you recruit. I set up the hiring, mentoring and review rituals that let a team grow without lowering the bar.

  • Fractional design & product lead
  • Hiring & mentoring
  • Design reviews
  • Team rituals & design ops
  • Team & partner coordination

FAQ

What kind of missions do you take on?

All of them, from strategy to delivery: product strategy, user research and data, product design, delivery with engineering, AI-powered products, and design and product leadership. A mission can be an audit of an existing product, a new feature, a redesign, or a fractional design and product lead while you recruit.

Do you work remotely or on site?

Both. I’m based in Paris and can work on site there, or remotely from anywhere: in France, in Europe or further afield.

How soon can we start, and how long does a mission last?

The start date depends on my schedule. The length depends on what you need and on your budget, from two or three days for an audit to several months for a new feature or a redesign. We set it together at the start, once the need and the budget are clear.

How do you charge?

It depends on the mission and how long it lasts. I work on a daily rate, which goes down for longer engagements.

Do you only work in healthcare?

Yes. Health is where I’m most useful, and where my knowledge and skills run deepest. I learned a lot working for health companies: alongside medical professionals, meeting patients, and visiting hospitals and medical labs.

Have you worked on regulated medical products?

Yes. At Cardiologs, I designed for an AI-powered ECG analysis platform that is a medical device, cleared by the FDA in the United States and CE-marked in Europe. In France, I also know the PECAN process (prise en charge anticipée numérique), through which the national health insurance temporarily reimburses innovative digital medical devices.

Can you work with an existing team, or on your own?

Both. I can join your design, product and engineering teams, or work on my own.

Are you open to a permanent role?

Yes, in healthtech or medtech, between Senior and Head of level.

Why carrots?

Because I like orange, and a carrot is orange.
